Important: this calculator is for education only and is not tax advice or a filing calculation. Residency rules, treaties, credits, local rates, allowances, municipal taxes and source-country tax can materially change the result. Confirm figures with a qualified adviser before acting.

A useful first number

Expat tax is rarely just a tax-rate question. Your tax residence, income source, days in each country, household, deductions and social insurance can all matter. This tool makes its assumptions visible so you can start a conversation with the right questions.

How it works

It applies a simplified progressive income-tax profile to annual gross income after deductions. The profiles are broad planning assumptions—not current tax tables—and are grouped by common tax-system patterns.

Countries covered

Select any of the 195 countries and territories commonly included in global tax planning. Where country-specific rules are not modelled, the calculator uses a conservative “general global” profile and labels it clearly.

Common questions

Does this calculate tax treaty relief?

No. Tax treaties can change which country may tax an income stream and how double taxation is relieved. Get advice for your specific residence and source-country combination.

Can I use this as an employee or self-employed person?

Use it as a high-level employee income calculator. Self-employment, company income, investment income and payroll obligations need separate treatment.

Why is the result in my selected currency?

The display currency keeps planning simple. It does not convert a local tax law into that currency or apply official exchange rates.
